Biography:
I’ll be 87 in two weeks, a farm housewife and enthusiastic gardener all my life. Planted turnips
this morning. We have lived on the same old homestead south of Spencer Butte for 53 years
where our eight children grew up learning to milk and keep the woodbox full. (Spring 2005)
Lois Barton is a retired farm homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and author
of several books including Spencer Butte Pioneers and One Woman’s West. Her books are
available for checkout at both the Fern Ridge Library and the Alvadore Community Library.
