Patricia Ann Edwards
Biography:  Volume 4 Issue 2 - "Reflections"
Pat Edwards is the Managing Editor of Groundwaters magazine and does all of the layout
work and correspondence for the group. She came on board with the magazine in early 2007,
shortly after Judy interviewed and wrote a profile on her and her husband for the August 2006
issue.
Pat and her husband, Jim Edwards, have lived in the Lorane/Crow area since 1966, and have
owned the Lorane Family Store since 1977. They raised their four kids, Gloria, Rob, Michele
and Kelly, on a farm a mile north of Gillespie Corners. Pat, Nancy O'Hearn and Marna Hing
researched and Pat wrote
Sawdust and Cider; A History of Lorane, Oregon and the Siuslaw
Valley
in 1987 in conjunction with the Lorane Centennial Celebration. Pat later compiled a
major revision of the book, calling it
From Sawdust and Cider to Wine in 2006. She has also
been the publisher and editor of two local newsletters,
Pat's People (4-H) and The Lorane
Historian
.
Pat ran the Lorane Family Store for the first eight years and then went to work for the Institute
of Neuroscience as an administrative coordinator for the international Zebrafish Research
Group. She retired, after 15 years, in April 2004. She now dedicates her time and energies to
the publication of
Groundwaters magazine.
