Biography:
Anita Van Hise, a retired Baker County Clerk, whose husband Harley recently passed away,
moved in May from their home at Stone Lodge Retirement Center in Bend, Oregon to Corvallis
to be close to family. The Van Hise’s loved the outdoors and formed special relationships with
their canine friends. Anita, who writes as a hobby, memorialized them with these poems.
