I stand before you naked,
my feathers of freedom
plucked away.
My protection from life and pain,
stolen

During the confusion, of our life,
in the time of chaos...
You reached out
to strangle life from me.
And began your plucking.
Somehow, each freedom,
each protection, was compromised.

Now, I stand...
plucked and strangled.
Chicken to take back my life;
Chicken to be who I am.
Realizing at last,
I’ve allowed my own plucking.
