In this realm of color that we call human
why is it that the rainbow does not touch down
on love? There are those that see only skin – not
heart or soul within the shell. For those, I am
sorry and ashamed at the same time. For those
who only see skin and let their prejudice shine
through only deny themselves the friendship
and joy of the rainbow. As for me, I still see
the color of the skin but I also see past the shell
to the human within. I thank the powers that
be because if it were not so, I would be
missing out on the awesome rainbow of friends
that make life worth living. For those that can
never accept the rainbow of humanity, I am
glad that I shall never suffer their pain of
ignorance nor the friends missed that make
my heart and soul complete.
