Who warmed the cockles of my heart and tickled the toes of my feet?

Who sent me to Sunday School in search of truth?
Who taught me to play Canasta, Gin and Scrabble?
Who went out of her way to buy me that shirt of brightest red?
Who sang to me and launched my love of music?
Who nursed me and rocked and sang me to sleep?
Who stood as my protector and friend?
Who made it possible for me to know my father?
Who put up with apple cores and empty fruit jars?
Who taught me to bake cookies and bread from scratch?
